Each year, we here on Bethel Island California have a new year day tradition some might find insane. During the early hours of the morning when it's colder than hell, we strip done to our birthday suites and jump into the freezing cold water of the delta. We call this insane tradition "The Frozen Bun-Run"
This event takes place at Rusty Porthole Restaurant located at 3893 Willow Rd., Bethel Island, and has been going on for 32 years. The people who actually participate in the event strapped water skis or wakeboards to their feet and jumped into the cold waters of Bethel Island were either crazy.....or drunk......or both.
